I know that for the most part people don’t think that mechanics do much more than get all greased up, working on car’s or spending time in the junkyards, or participating in the Illegal racing that sometimes goes on in different cities like ours, but we here at Steve O’s like to give back to our community. Depending on the time of year, we like to give back by volunteering for different charities, whether it is for an event like the MDA Bowl – A – Thon were we raise more than $1200.00 dollars annually, or preparing a breakfast for one of the local 5k footraces that benefit charities like Make -A – Wish and Candle Lighters. Living in and giving back to the community is often times very hard work, but we make up for it by becoming a civic minded company that likes to give forward, and not pay so much to our own bottom line. The owner and some employees are members of organizations like The Elks Lodge and BNI which are helpful in bettering our community’s future with such philosophies as “Givers Gain” and “Help Till It Hurts.”
We here at Steve O’s Automotive also follow along other methods of civic and social responsibility by making sure that we pay our technicians a REAL LIVING wage, our guys here don’t get paid minimum wage and then get instructed that the more they sell to the customer, the more they make as a bonus structure, can you think of a more irresponsible business structure. At our company we make sure that ALL taxes get paid, whether it is our sales taxes that we collect and then send in to the State of Nevada, or the one we send in for our men’s payroll taxes every two weeks on payday. We make sure that we pay child support and alimony payments through any court structure, and with that we instill a sense of Pride and Decency in our men so that they do not feel as though something bad is going to happen in the future, and this work model proves to show longevity in the men as they are happier and satisfied with working for our great company.
We strive to deliver the best possible prices to our customers while fulfilling the obligation of ethical business practices, You know when that other shop or the Craigslist mechanic tells you that they have a better price, and they seem to be cheaper, please understand WHY before you spend your money, and beware the guy that asks for ALL the money upfront so that he can procure the parts, he may not be there when you get back.
